Robert H. Steinfeld, Director
Robert Steinfeld served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of IMS Health Inc. from 2000 to 2009. Mr. Steinfeld's responsibilities included global legal and commercial affairs, mergers and acquisitions, government and regulatory relations and corporate compliance. He also served as IMS Health's Chief Tax Executive during his tenure as General Counsel. Prior to that, Mr. Steinfeld served as IMS Health's Senior Vice President, Tax and Corporate Development. He joined Cognizant Corporation (the corporate predecessor of IMS Health) in 1997. He played a key role in structuring and implementing the spin-offs by Cognizant and IMS Health of Nielsen Media Research, Gartner Group and Synavant and, then subsequently, in the split-off of Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Steinfeld served as Vice President, Taxation of Ultramar Corporation, a multinational petroleum refining and marketing company. From 1991 to 1993, he served as Vice President, Taxes of GAF Corporation and its publicly traded subsidiary, International Specialty Products, Inc. Mr. Steinfeld began his career as a lawyer in New York City in 1978. Mr. Steinfeld earned a B.A. from Columbia University in 1975, a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law in 1978, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1981.
